Graveside Service

These ceremonies help us to begin to heal. They are the first step in the bereavement process. It is important to recognize that these gatherings are for the living. Graveside Services declare that a death has occurred, commemorate the life that has been lived, and offer family and friends the opportunity to pay respect to their loved one.
A well-planned Graveside Service captures the essence of one who has passed on. We have compiled a list of suggestions that will aid you in focusing on those things that your loved one cherished throughout life. A review of these items may help you to remember meaningful symbols that can be included to personalize the Service in remembrance of your loved one.
- Put together photos of your loved one to be displayed at the Service.
- Play the favorite music of your loved one at the Service.
- Put together mementos that represent a favorite sport or hobby to display on a Celebration of Life table at the Service.
- Talk with your Family Service director about your loved one’s favorite foods; we will prepare a Celebration of Life snack table for your family at no additional charge.
- Tell those who plan to join your family at the Graveside Service to expect a Celebration of Life honoring your loved one.
- Ask the Funeral Director to include the Celebration of Life graveside service information in the remembrance bulletin.
