Questions and Answers

Can flowers be place on my loved one's site?

  • Yes, we encourage families to place flowers at the site of their loved one.
  • We do require an installed vase with the memorial for flowers and items to be left for an extended period of time.
How can I purchase flowers?
  • Flowers arrangements can be created by families or purchased outside of the cemetery to be left. Artificial flowers will last longer and are recommended, but live flowers can be placed as well.
  • We have flowers at the office for purchase. We also have a Flower Program where flowers are placed on your loved one's site 2, 4, or 6 times throughout the year with arrangements changing with seasons. Please contact the office for more informations.
Who is responsible for cleaning the gardens around my loved one's site?
  • The cemetery staff is responsible for maintaining the grounds including mowing the grass and weed eating around the memorials.
  • The cemetery staff will do general cleanings of the grounds regularly.
  • All land maintenance and care will be conducted by the cemetery staff. Please do not bring lawn equipment to the cemetery, but instead bring any maintenance needs to the attention of Gethsemane staff.
What items can be left on my loved one's site?
  • Any items that will fit inside the attached memorial vase, up to 3 feet in height, can be left, which include flowers, lights, pinwheels, flags, etc.
  • We ask that no items are left on the memorial or the grave site itself. Any items left are not the responsibility of the cemetery and will be removed during general cleanings.
  • Balloons are allowed but will be removed within 2-3 days as the balloons deflate.
  • Items that cover the grave site, such as banners or blankets, will be removed immediately. These items will prohibit new grass growth as well as kill the grass that is under the item.
